Holiday Season with Baby

We were snapping pictures Christmas morning and I turned the camera screen so we could see ourselves. Carter recognized his face immediately and made faces at himself that made us all giggle.

On his own time, Carter has begun to crawl! His confidence has grown immensely and his adventurous side has taken root. He started with a hobbled, one armed army crawl, but is now a graduated hands-and-knees stealth machine! It's no trouble at all for him to pull himself to standing on the couch, toy box, or anything that is sturdy. He will be walking before we know it I'm sure. He is quite the entertainer and will make noises at or shake his head for anyone who will pay attention. His favorite foods are pickles, popcorn, and mangoes. Peaches are the only thing he refuses to eat.

GRRRRRROWL!

Some May Call Him A First-Timer

Now that Carter has mastered sitting, we have had some fun shopping adventures together. He loves that he can look around at everyone.

He loves to stick his face into cups and see what noises he can make. He was so excited to stick his face into this Oatmeal can and growl. What a cutie!

He claimed the little orange one. It's just perfect for him!
We received a bag from Gramma and Grampa Simpson. Carter couldn't wait to play with the pumpkins. He wasn't sure about the texture at first, but soon warmed up to them.

One more thing . . .

Last night he spent some quality time with cousin Celestia and took notes of her awesome crawling skills. Today, he gave it a go for himself.

Holy Socks Can You Believe It? 6 Months!

Sportin' new shades with Gramma Simpson.
Carter is growing into such a little man. He has such a cute personality! He has new noises all the time and is not afraid to show them off to anyone who will listen. He LOVES books and music and is coming around to the idea of peekaboo. His favorite foods currently are mango, chocolate pudding, and applesauce. MMMMM!
What a face of innocence!

He's a rollin'!

Poor guy gave in and decided it was bedtime no matter where he was. What a cute sleeper!

Carter and Aunt Audrey had fun together last week. She sure knows how to make a guy smile!
Speaking of smiling, Carter had an especially good time with both his Grandpa's. He has no trouble being the center of attention.

This picture is my favorite! How can you not smile back at him? Goodness I love that kid!

This video is Carter's first time rolling over from his back to his belly on July 6thAnd this is his version of the story and his celebration speech.

Five Months Old!

Well, we thought we were in the clear, but it turns out Carter inherited Daddy's skin. He has a case of baby Eczema but is being a total champ about it. His puffy itchy rash is now down to only a few patches and he seems to be much more comfortable. He is developing in so many ways and loves to be social and smile at everyone. As the video captures, he has learned many new sounds (including the growl). Can't wait to see what else is in store for him. Life is wonderful :)

Gramma Simpson came to visit and we took an afternoon walk to the campus gardens. Little man tuckered out shortly after our start home.

Jus chillin'. Gangsta style.

Just life

My penguin mommy!

Just being silly boy :)

Just some more fun with our little bundle of awesomeness!
We were lucky enough to take a trip to G's Dairy with Nathan, Cortley, Celestia, and Devri our neighbors. MMMM! His stylin hat kept him shaded most of the way. Perfect!

4 Months Already

Our little guy is 4 months old and we can't believe it! At his check-up he was 13lbs 12oz and 25.5 inches long. He has new tricks and skills everyday and is developing quite the social personality. :) He is starting to teeth and has two little bumps front and center on the bottom. What a trooper! We can't wait to see what the next months have in store for him!

He loves his new soft teddy from Gran!

Such a big boy in his new high chair!

Recently

The little guy is quite happy now and loves to play and smile. He thinks its hilarious to stick his tongue out in the middle of a story. For emphasis.

Tummy time has been coming along. Slowly. . . He will wiggle his legs and arms for a bit and really get going. Then he tuckers out and cozies in. It's tough bein' a little guy.

Someone has a little attitude goin' on

"Who, me? I would never!"

"Um. . . What are you doing making those weird faces?"

"Oh no you didn't."

Stealing Hearts Part 2

Gramma Romrell wears a beaming smile as she holds both new grandchildren at once. She seemed to enjoy her time with the babies this weekend.
Gramma Romrell with Celestia and Carter

Grampa Jay and Tyler had some boy time with little Carter and discovered that cute little smile and a few new noises.

Great Gramma Ripley shared her comfy knees with Carter as he freely napped during her visit. How lucky he is to have so many great grandparents to love on him!

He is playing more and more and loves to laugh at Daddy. We are so grateful to finally have a happy baby and to be able to watch him learn and grow!

Smiley Baby

We are still waiting on the rest of his hair to come in, but Carter is growing growing! His 2 month check up is next week and last week he weighed in at a hefty 11lbs 5oz. Despite all the refluxing he has managed to keep some nutrients down. He is starting to make more noises rather than just cry and has even learned to hold his head up for quite a long while.
